Whether we like it or not and whether we know it or not, we all trust and follow something. We hope that you will take a bold step and choose to trust in Jesus and follow Him. Ephesians 5:1-2 gives us a guiding light to walk in love just as Jesus walks in love. As you read over that verse today, highlight the word ‘imitate’ and write down some of your favorite qualities about Jesus. Take a moment to meditate on ways that you have experienced those qualities from Him. As you pray today, ask the Lord to help you imitate His character as you follow Him throughout your life..

Galatians 5:13-14 reminds us that part of following Jesus is serving others in His love. It can be as simple as offering to pray for someone, providing a meal for someone in need, or even mowing a neighbor’s lawn. Take time out today to pray and ask God to impress a serving opportunity onto your heart. If you want an easy on-ramp, this upcoming Friday, we are hosting Night To Shine at Eikon. We would love for you to prayerfully consider serving individuals with special needs. We want to be ‘Jesus with skin on’ for our neighbors, and this is a great way to get involved in what God is doing in Hays County!

Part of trusting and following Jesus is learning to see yourself as He sees you. Over and over again in the Bible, the Lord speaks very highly of you. He values you. He gave His life because He loves you so much. Now it’s time for you to start walking in the freedom of His love. You can trust Him to love you, no matter what. You can trust Him to see you when you think no one else does. John 8:31-32 reminds us that He wants us to follow Him in complete freedom from lies we tell ourselves. Take a moment to pray and thank Him for loving you, seeing you, and believing the best about you!

We all make mistakes, and none of us are perfect—Romans 3:23 is a gentle reminder of that. So what do you do when you feel like there’s nothing you can do? Do you beat yourself up or wallow in self-pity? Do you give up or build up walls to keep people out? The good news is that you can always trust the Lord to be there, to listen, and to give you guidance for a step forward. He’s a God of second chances, do-overs, and restarts. Create some space right now to focus on the Lord in prayer and surrender those worries, doubts, and fears. Allow His love to pick you up, dust you off, and point you in the right direction!

John 8:1-11 points us to an incident where an adulterous woman is about to be stoned (totally legal at the time) by individuals who had caught her in the act. In that situation where the accusers had every right to push her down and make her feel the pain of her mistakes, Jesus showed us a better way. He demonstrated forgiveness. Jesus wants you to remember that even on your worst day, He still doesn’t condemn you. He still defends you, holds you, sticks up for you, and absolutely loves you. As you pray today, ask the Lord for the wisdom and courage to do the same for others as you trust and follow Him.
