Your outlook determines your experience. How have you perceived faith in Jesus through your everyday circumstances? Are you convinced He’s not listening to you? Do you believe He has nothing special to say to you? This week we are focusing on listening to God in prayer. Create some space today where there are no distractions. In that space, read over Psalm 51:12 and ask the Lord to restore the joy of salvation to you. Ask Him to remind you what joy you had at the moment you received salvation. Then sit and listen, and write down the things you believe He’s impressing on your heart at that time.

Eyes of faith are moved only by God’s Spirit and His Word, not by what we see through our human eyes. When we create intentional opportunities to read the Bible and seek ways to apply Biblical truths to our lives, it enhances the way our faith grows—especially when it’s consistent. Take a moment to either bookmark the website: and search for a Devotional or Bible Reading Plan focused on a particular topic that is prevalent in your life. Commit to starting that plan and reaching out to a trusted friend or mentor that can help you stay on track to make Bible reading a daily part of your life.

While the world says seeing is believing, faith says believing is seeing. Where in your life today can you choose to see with eyes of faith, hope, and love? Carve out some time today to read over 1 Corinthians 13:12-13. As you pray, ask God to help you see how faith, hope, and love are impacting your life. Sit and listen with expectancy, taking note of the ways that He illuminates your life through the lens of trusting faith. Then write down some ways you can embrace hope in your circumstances and how you have experienced the love of God through the milestones of your life.

While the world says only love those love you, extravagant love says every encounter is a chance to be a blessing, go over the top. Think for a moment about all the ways that people in your life have shown you love. Read over 1 John 4:19 and reflect on all the ways that God has shown His love to you. Now think of the ways that you can show that love back to Him. Perhaps it’s singing out a worship song to Him, using the talents He’s given you to benefit those in need, or by simply telling Him all the reasons why you love Him in prayer every day. Move forward in confidence, knowing that He loves you the most no matter what!

If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. As you prepare for the weekend ahead, begin focusing on the things about Jesus that make you feel light and joyful. Even if you have some tedious tasks ahead to tackle, ask yourself how you can choose love, hope, and joy in the middle of it. Take a moment to read over 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. Whether it’s on paper or your phone, hold your weekend schedule in your hand and ask the Lord to help you focus on His love, hope, and joy no matter what. Sit, listen, and be encouraged by the things He may impress on your heart as you hear from Him.
