Have you ever expected an outcome and been sorely disappointed when things didn’t turn out quite the way you imagined? To defeat discouragement in your life, you have to fight for encouragement in Christ. John 10:10 encourages us to remember that Jesus brings us abundant life. This abundant life that He brings is a life filled with things that exceed expectations—like hope, forgiveness, mercy, etc. Is there a disappointment that you need to surrender to God and cover in prayer? Ask the Lord in prayer today to help you reframe these disappointments and rest assured in His promise for abundant, hopeful life.

Jesus came to bring human flourishing. He came to set things right and to show us the way back to Eden. This doesn’t happen magically; it happens through work. It happens by setting crooked things straight, by working to make uneven places level, by making things right in the world. Jesus spoke to this in Luke 4:18-19. As you read over these verses, ask yourself where you need to make a move. Make space to seek the Lord in prayer for practical ways you can reach people near and far to help bring a little bit of Eden back to Earth as we flourish together!

When we moved into our church building, there were plain walls with broken equipment strewn about. We knew we needed to create a space for people to belong. We took intentional steps to create environments where people could come as they are, feel welcome, and experience the love of Jesus in a new way. Take time to read over 1 Peter 4:8-9 and pray about who in your everyday interactions you could invite to come into your home for a meal and some quality conversations. Set a date, prep the meal, set the table, and welcome them into a flourishing relational connection!

Our current parking lot creates space for 78 people to park. We know that there are people that want to discover flourishing faith in Christ for their life. They made the biggest step in deciding to come to church, but then they’re unable to hear the message because there’s no space for them. Our goal at Eikon is to raise $150,000 to build out the parking lot so that we can create more spaces to reach more faces. Would you join us in praying Proverbs 11:25 as we seek God for this flourishing opportunity? Would you also consider giving to the For Our City campaign to help us make this dream a reality? Visit for more information on how you can be a part of this incredible opportunity!

In John 13:34, Jesus reminds us of our new command to love one another as He has loved us. Is there something or someone that God has laid on your heart to invest in prayerfully, relationally, or financially? Seek God today in prayer for ways—big and small—that you can take the hope, promise, and provision of Jesus’ love to share with someone this weekend. Make it happen and walk through it with confidence and celebration, knowing that you are living a life of flourishing in Christ!
